EXIX is a techno artist from Berlin who established and managed one of the earliest underground techno collectives in Istanbul. He played a pivotal role in developing the city’s underground music landscape, inspiring many young artists along the way. Additionally, EXIX is a PhD candidate and a machine learning researcher who specializes in computational chemistry. Ready for an electrifying ride? It’s Constantinos’ raw techno podcast for our Märked Series #60. For over ten years, this multi-faceted artist has been perfecting his craft and developing a unique sound that combines industrial and organic elements with memorable melodies.

Born and raised in France, Constantinos’ passion for music started at a young age. After years of drumming and exploring different instruments, he discovered the world of computer-assisted music and fell in love with techno. Since then, he’s been a resident DJ in clubs, organized parties, and worked on several remixes, EPs, and an upcoming album for 2023.

Uksimo previously known as Saam (real name Sam Vermeer) is a Techno DJ / Producer from Amsterdam. At age seven he started playing the guitar and quickly developed further musical interest. From this moment, he also began to produce his own tracks in Ableton Live. He produced his first Techno tracks in 2012, which led to multiple EP releases on labels like Wall Music (Mike Wall’s imprint). In 2015 he released his second album, also on the Berlin-based label Wall Music. In 2016 he signed 2 tracks at the Utrecht-based Dynamic Reflection. This eventually led to some interesting gigs at events like Soenda and clubs like Tresor (Berlin) and Paradiso.

In the pandemic he started to produce new music under “Uksimo” inspired by the more rhythmic side of techno. Uksimo’s music is is created by the use of his modular synthesizer, which allow him to create unique sounds and textures by patching together different modules. He also uses multiple drumcomputers to create the rhythmic elements.

Same letter count, output similar to TNT. The Amsterdam-based DJ and producer D.N.P has been nothing short of explosive. Additionally, as Hunting Heretics together with Achiever, the best of the two is combined turning venues into scorched earth.

D.N.P is known for a unique sound where his tracks characterized with raw kicks are mostly brought to life by sharp and nasty percussion. Any color to a sound, arpeggiated stab or melody sees itself grinding and grating.

Luiz Fernando Ribeiro, known as LuizFribs, is a Brazilian techno artist who uses his violin in his energetic live performances. LuizFribs distorts and processes his violin to give it a more modern and brutal sound, and he improvises during live performances.

His music is heavily influenced by 80s synthpop, 90s trance, and modern techno and he is a regular feature in the Goiânia Techno scene and is constantly working on new tracks to evolve his sound.

Berlin-based producer and DJ Karl Schwarz is added to the Märked podcast as the 55th in the series. He seems to be living at the right place at the right time within the scope of emerging artists in Berlin, as this city is undoubtedly the catalyst for tough techno at global scale.

In this 60-minute mix, Karl Schwarz plays a carefully crafted build-up of techno. Starting off with a dreamy sentiment and quickly moving onto the bolder and higher rhythmic pieces. Halfway through the mix distortion is more present, but the dynamic is kept by holding on to a very diverse selection of tracks.

Today we welcome the founder of Somasutra – one of the biggest queer techno parties in Minsk, Belarus. Dima Kachan was born there but is currently based in Warsaw in Poland.

His early days in music were marked by hardcore and punk, but eventually Dima got fascinated by electronic music. Becoming an evangelist for the scene is what follows, helping develop the local scene. The beauty is found in this entrepreneurial spirit to build things that serve the community, which we’d gladly provide a platform to.
