Yūgen-b returns to Märked with Ethereal Essence – his first original release for the label. After previously appearing as a remixer on MRKD044, he now steps forward with a five-track EP that captures fleeting emotion through pulsing techno. Designed as a sonic flight into a weightless state, the EP weaves nostalgia and optimism with the sheer physicality of sound. Across four originals and a remix by Ronze, the release invites the listener to detach, move, and feel.

Sakura opens the EP in an emotional bloom – a radiant blend of dreamy melodies and a thick low-end, wrapped in a hopeful hue. The groove is steady but light, a perfect beginning for a journey that lifts rather than pounds – but also pounds.

On Dance In Life, Yūgen-b raises the energy. A distorted synth line flutters and buzzes at the surface, while under it a rolling groove and warm pad textures pulse with inner movement. There’s something meditative in its high drive – a kind of organized chaos that settles into rhythm.

Take Me Away delivers the most introspective moment. A melancholic vocal leads the break, pulling the listener into a slower-paced track where drive remains, but sentiment takes over. The track pulses with soft urgency, like chasing something already lost.

Exilles unveils Sonic Chronicles EP, a six-track odyssey through dreamy techno landscapes and driving, visceral rhythms. Inspired by medieval intricacy and the raw energy of techno, the EP blends timeless detail with bold power for a sound that feels both grounded and new.

Opening the EP, Kemokoji feels like tracing footsteps in a forgotten cathedral, its dreamy undertones pierced by the clarity of a resounding kick. Acidic tingles and delicate bell-like tones echo through a vast sonic expanse, creating a hypnotic allure.

Progressive and charged, 133HP takes the listener deeper into a heady, big-room soundscape. Thick kick-bass interplay and a hypnotic momentum carry an almost trance-like progression, evoking surreal dancefloor delirium.

Run Into The Void plunges into the abyss with pounding kicks and acid slabs that shimmer and rebound through reverb. A rattling percussion rhythm emerges in the drop, adding urgency and weight to the void’s relentless pull.

The EP’s most ferocious offering, Drums of War, marches forward with rapid-fire intensity. Its churning acid lines and melody-inflected synth grooves strike a balance between brutal and sublime, conjuring images of ancient battlefields set to an unforgiving techno pulse.

Lifka transforms 133HP into a towering remix that highlights its dreamy origins while pushing tougher, rattling percussion to the forefront. The drop flirts with classic, infectious motifs, making it both familiar and refreshing.

Nika Key’s take on Kemokoji delves deeper into its atmospheric core, amplifying its bassy kick and expansive synth reverbs. A distinctive steel-bell hat adds texture and character, resonating like a distant, metallic chant.

Not many manage, but in Welcome Back Torgue perfects the craft of bringing funk and groove back to industrial-infused techno. A contagious bass synth sits in the back, enriched with cleverly placed robots and lasers making the dancefloor a playground of cybernetic funk.

Closing off with the rhythmic drum finale at a high pace with Voidwalker. The vibe is late morning hours, sweat and tribal rhythms.

Step into the sonic battlefield as Anoy unleashes a relentless barrage of auditory artillery in this 4-track EP. Venture through a post-apocalyptic wasteland with each step punctuated by the pounding through the rugged terrain of techno. 

In Rogue Element, the track’s atmosphere is as cold and unrelenting as steel, wrapping you in an icy acid cloak to set the stage for an impending sense of darkness. 

The title track Behind Enemy Lines rides you into uncharted territory, much like galloping a war horse through a battlefield. The track surges forward like a charging cavalry while a persistent vocal drills you into the beat. 

In Obsidian acid is dripping and pouring through the body of the track. The emphasis on the 1 and 2 step of the beat creates a contagious groove to maintain the moving urgency. 

Closing off with Bura, a raw and churning mass driving you to your limits. With each swell and drop of the bold synth delivering a sweep off for your feet.

Starting with Treasures, this is one of those musical gems that keeps on overflowing with life with an almost mystical quality. A sound and melody that have emotions run deep, while the heart of the track keeps your pulse racing at its beats per minute.

The answer to a surefire way to light up the dancefloor is Quantumness. The lead synth and perc rhythm make a deadly and irresistible groove. Its notes soar and dive, creating a rhythmic anchor that holds everything together.

Geerson’s remix of Quantumness keeps most of the original’s iconic lead synth intact. In this version, the kicks fire in rhythmic drum salvos. The sonic landscape traverses peaks and valleys, sending you to both extremes in orbit.

Powerhouse Tham brings in the Club Kid remix of Pittsburgh by sending new life into one of the layers of the lead synth. Tham’s signature sound is applied to turn it into a full-fledged hammer track: the sound is ruthless, the groove contagious.

The vinyl record wasn’t able to carry all of the signed tracks, so here we round up with two digital-only original mixes. Starting with Pittsburgh, the sound is large and evokes emotion with big synths going up and down from the soaring highs of optimism to the profound depths of reflection.

New Dimension seamlessly fuses two contrasting elements: a robust drive and an enigmatic vibe. A big bag of drive propels the energy forward in the groove while the synth adds an air of mystique living up to adding that ‘New Dimension’.
